I received my wristband from the library director, Ms. McGrew. I had volunteered at the library the last school year, helping to catalog the enormous amount of books in the library. It was an easy but time-consuming job, and one that the regular staff couldn't do due to other jobs. It had been pushed to the back burner for a while, and that is the job they gave me when I asked to volunteer. I came in when I had some extra time away from my studies. I was more than happy to do it and I didn't expect praise or reward. I left the college for the summer, and during that time a dedicated staff member took up where I left off to finish the job. She said she was inspired by my efforts and got the motivation to continue. At the start of the fall semester, I returned to the library in hopes of volunteering again. Ms. McGrew was excited to see me return, so she gave me the bracelet for "being an awesome person." I have yet to pass on the bracelet, but I will keep my eye out for truly caring people.
